Responsible Pathologist:

UTERUS AND FALLOPIAN TUBES; HYSTERECTOMY AND BILATERAL SALPINGECTOMY:

  • LOW-GRADE ENDOMETRIAL STROMAL SARCOMA with extensive sex cord differentiation. See COMMENT.

    • Tumor size: 6.7 cm, per report.

    • Lymphovascular invasion: Not identified.

    • Necrosis: Not identified.

    • Border: Pervasively infiltrative.

    • Serosal involvement: See COMMENT.

Immunohistochemistry performed demonstrates the following staining profile in lesional cells:

Positive — CD10, ER (>90%, moderate to strong), PR (99%, strong)

Negative – SMA, desmin, SF1, cyclin D1, Melan-A

COMMENT: Molecular studies demonstrated a JAZF1::PHF1 gene rearrangement. In regard to uterine confinement – somewhat more oriented sections demonstrate the malignant cells to extend transmurally through to the serosal surface. The cervix, bilateral fallopian tubes and ovaries are otherwise negative for tumor.
