UTERUS AND FALLOPIAN TUBES; HYSTERECTOMY AND BILATERAL SALPINGECTOMY:
LOW-GRADE ENDOMETRIAL STROMAL SARCOMA with extensive sex cord differentiation. See COMMENT.
Tumor size: 6.7 cm, per report.
Lymphovascular invasion: Not identified.
Necrosis: Not identified.
Border: Pervasively infiltrative.
Serosal involvement: See COMMENT.
Immunohistochemistry performed demonstrates the following staining profile in lesional cells:
Positive — CD10, ER (>90%, moderate to strong), PR (99%, strong)
Negative – SMA, desmin, SF1, cyclin D1, Melan-A
COMMENT: Molecular studies demonstrated a JAZF1::PHF1 gene rearrangement. In regard to uterine confinement – somewhat more oriented sections demonstrate the malignant cells to extend transmurally through to the serosal surface. The cervix, bilateral fallopian tubes and ovaries are otherwise negative for tumor.
